Today we got to spend the whole day with Dima!! (aka Anziano Scotchi). We served together for 6 weeks in Gela. I wish that we could’ve served together longer! The good news is that we get to hang out now.
This is where it was believed Peter was buried.
These are all the popes that have lead the Catholic church throughout the centuries.
That is some sweet architecture!
This was what i was most excited to see. I believe Michelangelo sculpted this sculpture but I could be wrong. But I have seen this in a lot of places throughout the world.
We went home and a great Italian meal together – Pasta! It brings back memories of eating pasta with Dima during the mission. He was one of the best cooks that I served with.
I am a true Italian! I am grating my own cheese over my pasta!
This is the castle where Tom Cruise got married! Later our new friend Jeffrey would tell us about how it used to be famous because if it’s history, but I’m way more interested in the fact that this is the castle where Tom Cruise got married!
This is Dima’s first time swimming in 3 years!! Holy cow! He thought the water was cold, but it was actually the perfect temperature. I don’t think he would survive if he had gone swimming in Sand Hollow when we had the BBQ with Spencer earlier this summer.
That water was super duper cold at Sand Hollow.
This was the crew. We were playing some water volleyball as we waited for the YSA to arrive. For some reason I thought we were at the YSA activity the whole time but I came to find out that it didn’t even start til 9. It was so much fun and this water was incredible. It was the cleanest water I have ever swum in and it was fresh water!
Check out my soccer skills! That’s me kicking the ball. Just call me Ronaldo.
Thumbs up to Rock n Roll! (I think that’s the youtube clip?)
I think this is the best game of volleyball I’ve ever had. I played horribly, but I dove for everything! haha. I think it’s awesome to have a net to play with in the water. They should totally get this in Hawaii.
Alright…I promise I learned how to set a ball. This is a bad example of that. Hey Ray did we lose all our games when we played together?
The real question is did we play with more style than the other team every time we played together? I’ll let this photo answer that for me:
DRAGON BALL Z hair!
Ok i promise I learned how to set a ball. This is the second bad example but trust me on this…..
Ready….
Spike! (or something like it)
Ok I promise I know how to play volleyball. These pictures don’t accurately show my skill level.
The sunset was incredible. I love the water. This lake is actually used to provide drinking water in Rome, so it is kept very clean. You’re not even allowed to have motorboats on it! It’s one of the cleanest lakes in Italy.
This was the best part of the night! It was so funny because Dima is like Kendall and Spencer. He cannot stay on his feet. He was diving and sacrificing his body during every point. It was the funniest thing ever. This was one of the thousand times he was found on the ground.
I think Dima is whiter than me. Maybe.
