NICE

Having a little dinner a couple hours before we had the bus from Montpellier

Our last dinner in Montpellier. We were able to eat our dinner, watching a gorgeous sunset while waiting for our bus to Italy. We had our usual sandwhiches with cookies that we would buy at the local grocery store. Oh and don't forget the yogurt drinks.

So...our bus broke down somewhere near the France and Italian border. We asked the driver how long we would be stuck there and he said a Long, LONG time. So we decided to go watch the sunrise for a few minutes.

After about 15 (maybe 20) minutes we went back to the bus to see how things were going. On our walk up we joked about our bus being gone. When we got up, it was really gone!!! We were pretty shocked. Our big bags were on the bus, but all our valuables were in the little bags that we had with us. The biggest problem now was how were we going to get to Rome? We talked to the lady in the gas station and she told us that yes the bus had left, and her advice was to try hitchhiking. At first we weren't sure, but we were pretty desperate so we decided to give it a shot.

We said a little prayer before that we would be inspired to know how to arrive safely to Rome. We went on the street to try hitchhiking, but the best we got were a few waves. We went back to the gas station to ask for more advice on hitchhiking and she told us that we should try asking people who come gas up where they're going and if we could get a ride - so we did it! We had a few times when we thought to ourselves "Wow, I never thought I would be THIS guy." But we took turns asking people and if they spoke any Italian, English, or Spanish we asked them for a ride. We tried that for awhile but didn't have any luck.

Finally the thought came to me (after we figured out roughly where we were: on the French side of the border of Italy and France), that we could go to Nice and catch a Eurolines bus from there. It's really great that Heavenly Father is always looking out for us! So we got some help to know where we could get a bus from near the gas station over to Nice.

Throughout this whole experience, we had pretty good attitudes. I mean, we were kind of mad, but overall, they couldn't have abandoned us in a better place. They left us at the top of Monaco which is one of the most beautiful city/country that I have ever seen. We could see these gorgeous suburbs and these huge yachts on the sea. It was impressive. This is where many multi-millionaire and multi-billionaires live. Bill Gates even owns a home here.

As we traveled down the road a little ways, the Lord definitely put one of the nicest women in the World in our path. I decided to ask her, in my spanish/english hoping it would magically turn in to french language where the bus station is. She could tell we were completely lost. She was so kind that she went with us to show us the bus station and she stayed on the bus with us until she knew were taken care of. She was such a sweet lady.

We made it to NICE!!!! Check out this amazing water.

.... So to continue the story, we made it to Nice and we ran to the Euroline office. The lady there was so nice that she helped us get our tickets and she arranged for our baggage to be left in Rome. While she was doing all this, we fell fast asleep in her office. We were exhausted. We slept there for who knows how long until she woke us up and told us everything was fine. We then decided to buy some swim suits at H&M  and go to the beach. It turned out to be a fantastic day.

We went to H&M and bought some cheap swim trunks to spend the day at the beach!

This water was so Nice! haha get it Nice!
So there I was...enjoying my swim, trying to be cool. I know there were a lot of shots Ray could have got of me. He then yelled, "Clark, jump out of the water, I'll get an action shot." Of course, I thought it was a  dumb idea so I tried to make fun of his suggestion and it definitely came back to bite me. This is the shot he got of me.

This picture took sacrifice. I had to set the timer and make it to where I am standing in ten seconds. It hurt so bad because these rocks were hardcore!

We got to see the sunrise, and the sunset!

I took this picture of Ray. This is one of many positions we were in so that we could sleep. We both slept on this bus for 8 hours straight. It felt so good.
